Pick Your Own Berries Guide

One thing I love about living here in the south so the variety of crops that can be grown here.  And with that comes lots of variety for growing your own or picking your own fruits and vegetables.

Back home apple picking was the only thing I had ever done (besides blueberries in my grandmother’s backyard) but here in Georgia, we have farms for everything!

Apples, Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Sweet Corn, Peaches, Pumpkins,
Strawberries and even Watermelons.  Each has its peak season but equals to year-round fresh picking.  (December is good for greens.)

Remember it can get very hot in the fields so try to go early and wear sunscreen.  A friend also shared how important it is to keep the berries cool even on the way home as she had some go bad just on the car ride.
